The federal government as well as the provincial governments is also taking steps to solve the increasing electricity problems in the country. After the solar program of the Punjab government, the Sindh government has also launched the Sindh Solar Program scheme for the budget 2024-25. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has termed this program as a historic project for the people of Sindh and said that this project will be completed under the supervision of the World Bank. The PPPP provincial cabinet has approved the program and the registration will be announced soon. Important conditions have been laid down for the applicants for this scheme, in the light of which eligibility or non-eligibility will be decided.
What is Sindh Solar Program scheme?
Sindh Solar Program is a wonderful project of Sindh Government for the people of Sindh. Under this scheme, solar system will be provided to 2 lakh families in the first phase. The registration fee of this project is fixed at 7000 which will be deposited in Sindh Bank. The government says that under this project, 2 solar panels of 1 KW will be provided along with battery and inverter which will run 1 fan and three led bulbs easily.
Sindh Solar Scheme 2024 Overview
This project will provide a new source of light to the people of Sindh to overcome the lack of electricity. Most importantly, funds have been approved for the project which means the project will pick up speed after June. The details have been given by the provincial administration according to which funds have been allocated for this in the budget. For the success of this project, special teams have been formed to gather all the details and information about it. It has been considered a subsidy program of which 80% of the cost will be borne by the Sindh government itself. A quota of 50,000 families has been kept in Karachi alone, and the remaining 150,000 panels will be distributed in other cities.

Most importantly, family members who are part of the labor community are more likely to get solar energy.
